Ischgl

Relax… if you can!

"Relax... if you can", this is the motto that Ischgl lives by. When you choose an Ischgl ski holiday, there are plenty of fantastic activities and opportunities to keep you active, this lively town truly does everything within its power to fulfil its motto.

Perfectly prepared slopes, the largest interconnected freestyle area at the Ischgl Snow park, plenty of snow and off-piste skiing in Ischgl are just some of the reasons an Ischgl ski holiday is so popular. The ski area boasts 238km of slopes, serviced by no less than 45 lifts, making it paradise for skiers and snowboarders. The Silvretta Ski Area is connected to Samnaun in Switzerland and with 90% of the ski region located above 2000m, it ensure a long and snow sure season. The Idalp is the heart of the ski area with loads of challenging slopes for both novice and experienced skiers and snowboarders. Although, if you are looking to really challenge yourself there are plenty of red and black slopes in the rest of the ski area.

Your key to the entire ski area is the lift pass, which gives you access to the punctual and modern lift services when skiing in Ischgl. The Filmjochbahn, an 8 seater chairlift, is one of the latest innovations introduced to the ski area. The impeccable lift services will help to make your ski trip more comfortable and less time consuming, letting you enjoy the slopes a little while longer. The Filmjochbahn gives you access to the Ischgl-Samnaun run which contains 3 different difficulty levels; gold, silver and bronze. For the daredevils out there, if you manage to ski all the way down to Ischgl you’ll even win a prize.

The Ibiza of the Alps

Ischgl is often referred to as the “Ibiza of the Alps” and not without reason. When you go on a ski holiday to Ischgl, it’s not only for the pristine slopes but also for the fun and party atmosphere that this town exudes.

Those who love après-ski will come to know that trendy bars such as Kujstall, Schatzi and Niki’s Stadl are among the most popular in the village, with partygoers enjoying music and drinks until the early hours of the morning. Ischgl also hosts the annual Top of the Mountains festival, where world-famous singers are among the performers. In recent years Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Rihanna and Elton John were among the artists that kicked off the festival. Aside from the unrivalled après-ski facilities, there are plenty of restaurants and shops to visit for those who need to fill their retail therapy desires. Sunweb offers a variety of accommodation, from cheap and cheerful to luxury and all-inclusive, in Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See.

A ski holiday in Ischgl is one we are sure you will never forget.

Map

Silvretta Arena

With approximately 350 kilometres of slopes, the Silvretta Arena ski area is a paradise for ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The area consists of the Ischgl, Samnaun, Galtür, Kappl, and See villages, and spans both Austria and Switzerland. Most of the 41 ski lifts and beautiful slopes in the famous Ischgl-Samnaun area are located on northern slopes, above 2000-metres elevation. They are therefore very snow-sure. For snowboarders, Ischgl features a halfpipe and a fun park called Boarders-Paradise. Children and beginners can also take on the challenge there. For carving fans, a carving route has been made specifically for that. The Silvretta cross-country ski trail is approximately 48 kilometres long and connects the lovely ski villages of Ischgl and Galtür. Kappl and See are especially popular with families.

Ischgl

This car-free village can rightly be called one of the most popular ski villages in Austria. Nowadays, partygoers and ski enthusiasts alike know how to find their way to this fashionable village. Trendy après-ski bars such as Kuhstall, Schatzi, Niki's Stadl, and Fire + Ice make Ischgl the 'Ibiza of the Alps'. Every year, the opening of the ski season is heralded with a Top of the Mountains concert there, featuring amazing artists.

Kappl

The village of Kappl is located on the sunny side of the Paznaun Valley, at an altitude of approximately 1200 metres. ‘Kappl’ comes from the phrase 'ad Cappellum', referring to the many chapels in the valley. It is a quiet village with a friendly atmosphere, consisting of several neighbourhoods built against the mountainside. The cable car to the Dias ski area is located in the valley on the main road to Ischgl. Kappl has its own ski area with 40 kilometres of slopes.

See

See is an economical place to stay, close to the fashionable and popular Ischgl. This ski village is located at an altitude of approximately 1000 metres. A sports shop and ski school are located at the valley station of the Medrigjoch lift, where the valley pistes end.

Galtur

At an altitude of 1,584 metres, Galtür is one of the highest skiing villages in Austria and the highest in the Silvretta region. Due to its elevation, this village is very snow-sure. It was built in a traditional Tyrolean style that is more than 600 years old. The village is particularly child-friendly and is very popular with Austrian families. If you like to join in the après-ski fun, Galtür is the village for you. The roof is raised from 16:00 onwards there.
