Piesendorf

Piesendorf is a quaint, rural village located approximately 5 kilometers down the road from the well known towns of Kaprun and Zell am See. During the day the village offers the “Erlebnisberg” with a ski school, a novice and advanced ski lift, a luge track, snowboard park and tubing lanes. In the evening you can enjoy your well deserved peace and quiet. If you would like to experience some local après-ski events however, Kaprun and Zell am See are just around the corner! In the surroundings of Piesendorf you can enjoy long walks by following the car free roads in the area. If you want to discover the area in a different way you might want to consider taking a romantic horse-drawn sleigh tour.

Three ski areas and the Kitzsteinhorn

Skiing in Zell am See – Kapruns, gives skiers the opportunity to ski in the Hausberg and the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, the family-friendly Maiskogel in Kaprun and the glacier Kitzsteinhorn. You can reach the Schmittenhöhe with one of the three gondolas from Zell am See, or the Areit gondola from Schüttdorf. The top of the mountain reveals the best thing about skiing in Zell am See – Kaprun, the breath-taking panoramic views that form the thirty 3000m summits around the mountain.

With a total of 138km of slopes including 32km of black runs and numerous red trails and blue slopes, skiing in Zell am See – Kaprun, offers something for everyone. Even from the summit station of the glacier at 3029m, both beginners and experienced skiers can descend at their own pace.

Aside from skiing on a Zell am See – Kaprun ski holiday, you also have a huge selection of other winter sports activities such as cross-country skiing, tubing, or a serene hike through a picturesque winter wonderland. Cross-country skiers can discover 230km of cross-country ski trails of the famous Pinzgau-Loipe. For snowboarders, the region offers both a halfpipe and a fun park. You can even choose to go ice skating on the lake to Thumersbach if the weather permits.

In the evening, Zell am See-Kaprun has lots to offer with a lively atmosphere. In the bars of Kaprun or on the lakeside promenade in Zell am See, you can relax after a busy day on the slopes with a refreshing après-ski drink.

Shops are usually open from Monday until Friday from 09.00 AM to 18.00 PM (some shops close during the afternoon). Most shops are closed on Sunday.

Travelling by car:

Snow chains are obligatory in the Alps. You need a toll permit for the motorways in Austria. You can buy the permit at the AA in the UK or in Austria at the major border crossings. The European Commission advises you to wear a safety reflector jacket in the event of a break down or accident. This vest can be purchased from the AA in the UK as well.

Voltage:

The voltage is 230 volt.

Mobile telephone:

UK mobile phones work in Austria as well.

Travel documents:

You need to be in the possession of a valid passport to travel to Austria.

Travel by own transport:

In step 1 of the booking process, it is indicated which days the lift pass is valid for (eg Sunday to Friday). If you would like the ski pass to start on a different day than shown in the booking steps, you must contact our contact centre by telephone. The booking can then be adjusted.

On destination, it is not possible to change the lift pass start date to another day. An extension of the lift pass can often be booked for an extra surcharge; the price for this can be found in step 1 of the booking process. The discount for "no ski pass" can also be found in the booking process.

Discounts:

The ski pass for children born from 1/1/2015 is free. Children born between 1/1/2002 and 31/12/2014 receive a discount on the ski pass. You will find these discounts in step 2 of the booking process.

Deposit:

The deposit is € 2 for the ski pass for people with a date of birth up to and including 31-12-2012.

Passport photograph:

A passport photo is mandatory for a ski pass for 8 days.

ID:

Identification is required when collecting the ski pass.
