Pension Bergheil

Pension Berg Heil is a small, family-run guest house in the centre of Kaprun. You will feel right at home here. The rooms are simple and comfortable. They each have a TV, radio, balconies and bathrooms.

The lift of the Maiskogelbahn is just 400m away, and you can take the ski bus to get there. The free ski bus stop is just 10m away, and will take you to Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn. After a day on the slopes, try one of the many bars in Kaprun/Zell am See. If you are after something quieter you can also relax in the sauna.

Kaprun

Ski holidays in Kaprun take place in a lively winter sports area where you are bound to finds lots of things to enjoy yourself. Kaprun is part of the Europa Sportregion, a ski resort known for its steady snow fall.

Skiing in Kaprun is suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. There are a few fun parks for the snowboarders to enjoy, with a 100m long half pipe (among other things) making a ski holiday in Kaprun much more than just skiing. On top of this, hikers can enjoy 25km of trails, including a 7km trail to the mountain restaurant Tauernblick at an altitude of 1091m.

Three ski areas and the Kitzsteinhorn

Skiing in Zell am See – Kapruns, gives skiers the opportunity to ski in the Hausberg and the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, the family-friendly Maiskogel in Kaprun and the glacier Kitzsteinhorn. You can reach the Schmittenhöhe with one of the three gondolas from Zell am See, or the Areit gondola from Schüttdorf. The top of the mountain reveals the best thing about skiing in Zell am See – Kaprun, the breath-taking panoramic views that form the thirty 3000m summits around the mountain.

Snow chains are obligatory in the Alps. You need a toll permit for the motorways in Austria. You can buy the permit at the AA in the UK or in Austria at the major border crossings. The European Commission advises you to wear a safety reflector jacket in the event of a break down or accident. This vest can be purchased from the AA in the UK as well.

The voltage is 230 volt.

Lift pass, lessons and ski/board hire

A Ski Alpin Card lift pass is included in the tour price.

You can see the surcharges and discounts for, for example, extending your lift pass or no lift pass in step 1 (preferences) of the booking process. Ski passes for children born after 01/01/2018 are free. Children born between 01/01/2005 - 31/12/2017 will receive a discount on their ski pass. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your travel sum. Identification is required when collecting the ski pass.

Any surcharges and discounts are only valid upon booking. Other rates are applied locally. It is not possible to redeem your ski pass on another day onsite. An extension of your ski pass can often be booked as an extra; you will find the price for this further in the booking process. A discount for “no ski pass” can also be found during the booking process.

Silver

This is ideal equipment for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The equipment is manoeuvrable and suitable for cutting corners sharply. Parallel skiing is also possible with these skis.

Gold

These skis and snowboards are made of high quality material, and are perfect for experienced skiers. They can also be used by skiers who have mastered parallel skiing. This comfortable equipment is suitable for all track types and snow conditions.

Diamond

These are high performance skis and snowboards with the latest technology, and are suitable for the most experienced skiers.

a helmet is included in the ski equipment for children up to 11 years old. If you are older, you can bring your own helmet or rent one onsite, if available.
