Skiing in Aussois

General information

The small, idyllic mountain village of Aussois is still relatively unknown, but definitely a worth while destination! This village is perhaps one of the most authentic mountain villages in France. Here you will find local crafts, festivities and generally a traditional agrarian way of living. If you want to delve into the local history of this village you can visit the Musée d'Aussois. There is also a wide selection of bars and restaurants in the centre of the village to keep you entertained in the evenings.

In Aussois there are plenty of options for both novice and experienced skiers and snowboarders. More than half of the 50 kilometers of pistes are blue pistes, ideal for beginners. At the middle station you can access a few red pistes and one black piste. There is a boarder cross for snowboarders and cross country skiers can head for the cross country skiing tracks in the resort. Outside of the village you cross country skiers can use the tracks of Domaine Nordique du Monolithe. Besides the usual winter sports there are plenty of other activities in the area like dog sleigh riding, ice climbing and even horse riding. If you are looking for a varied ski holiday, then Aussois is definitely a good choice!
