Skiing in Galibier Thabor

General information

Together with Valmeinier, Valloire in the French Savoie forms the largest ski area in the Haute Maurienne, the Galibier Thabor. More than three quarters of the 150 km (93 ml) of pistes are located at Valloire and this is the place to be for the real ski and snowboard fanatics. The 150 km (93 ml) of pistes are suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Since this is a relatively new resort, it is also equipped with a modern ski lift system. The resort of Valmeinier is connected to the resort of Valloire by cable car. From Valmeinier 1800 you can make great tours via Valmeinier 1500 to Les Verneys and Valloire and, of course, in the other direction too.

Together, Valloire and Valmeinier have 40 km (25 ml) of cross country skiing tracks ranging in difficulty and snowboarders can test their skills in the snow park which also includes a half pipe.

A tip: in the village of Orelle, approximately 25 minutes drive from Valmeinier, you can catch the ski lift to Val Thorens, which is part of the biggest interconnected ski area of Les Trois Vallées. If you want to ski or snowboard here for the day you need to pay approximately € 40,- on location.
