Skiing in Flaine

General information

In the heart of the ski area Le Grand Massif is the resort Flaine. It is situated at an altitude of 1600m, and is designed by the famous urban architect Breuer. The resort consists of mainly white buildings in order for them to blend into the naturally white surroundings.

Skiing in Flaine

Flaine is part of the extensive Les Grand Massif ski area. Overall this area has over 265km of ski slopes. It also includes the famous French resorts of Samoëns, Morillon and Les Carroz d’Araches. It is a perfect area for beginner to intermediate skiers/snowboarders. The highest point of Les Grand Massif is approximately 2500m, making it a fairly snow sure destination through the whole of the winter season.

The Resort

Flaine is an entirely car free village consisting of three different neighbourhoods: Flaine Forêt, Flaine Forum and Flaine Front de Neige. These neighbourhoods are connected to each other by public lifts. Besides skiing there are many other great activities in Flaine. Enjoy a drink at one of the lively après-ski bars including The White Pub, L’Eloge and the West Mountain. For non skiers there are also plenty of options such as snow showing, ice skating, snowmobiling, paragliding, dog sledding, rock climbing and bowling.

Sunweb has a great range of different ski packages available in Flaine. From all inclusive luxurious hotels to simple cheap apartments. There are packages to suit all groups.
