Chalets de SuperD

Chalets de SuperD is a group of large chalets just a short walk from the centre of Superdévoluy. The ski lift Jas is only 200 meters away, and also the blue pistes Lièvre, Jas, Sapins and Meules end here. Every morning you can see the short walk as a small warm-up, before you hit the fresh powder each morning. The chalets are divided into several simple, but comfortable apartments. At the reception you can get a raclette grill, after which you have a delicious meal.

Stiff muscles after skiing? Then enjoy a good time in the Superdévoluy wellness center, Aqua Spa Dévoluy, 650 meters away (at an additional cost). Here you can pamper yourself with a jacuzzi, sauna's and a lot of different massages. One thing is certain, and that is that you'll leave the wellness center completely relaxed.

In the evening head to the lively centre and enjoy a nice meal or well deserved drink. If you don't want to worry about the food, you can book half board at Bar & Restaurant Red Cap. Then both breakfast and dinner are fixed.

Board basis

For a surcharge of € 29 per person per night you can book on a half board basis. For children aged 2 to 12, the surcharge is € 18.50 per person per night. Half board is served in Bar & Restaurant Red Cap, which is approximately 300 meters away. If you want to enjoy a delicious dinner during New Year's Eve, there is a surcharge of € 50 per person. A surcharge of € 25 per person applies for children from 2 to 12 years old. Half board dinner is not suitable for vegetarians. A set meal is served every evening. These meals can include meat or fish. If you are vegetarian, it is important that you indicate this when booking. The restaurant can then prepare a separate meal for you.

The apartments must be left clean. If they have not been cleaned, cleaning costs will be charged. These are €55 for the 2-room apartments and €80 for the 3-room apartments.

Superdévoluy

Superdévoluy has become a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders in recent years. Everything is within close reach at this compact ski station, and it is equipped to ensure you a successful holiday! Besides skiing there are other snow activities you could try out, like snow kiting for example.

The goal of the architects at the time was to build everything under one roof and the result works well. in the long shopping corridor underneath the Bois d'Aurouze building you will find a baker, supermarket, ATM, post office, ski school and a ski rental shop. For all your shopping and ski equipment, this is the place to be.

After skiing there is plenty to keep you entertained in the evening with lively bars, restaurants and a few nightclubs. There is also a cinema in Superdévoluy, so there is no reason to get bored off the pistes!

Le Massif du Dévoluy

The ski area of Superdévoluy and La Joue du Loup, Le Massif du Dévoluy, is a perfect spot for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. It is one of the largest resorts in the Southern Alps. Here the snow from the north meets the sun from the south, the perfect combination!

The low pistes are slightly flatter and therefore ideally suited for the beginning skier and snowboarder. The high altitude pistes offer a remarkable range of options for the more advanced skiers and boarders. For the real fanatics there are good off piste trails and challenging black pistes like the black descent of La Mure. There is a special snow park in Superdévoluy with a half pipe, quarter pipe, several jumps and a boarder cross.

A large part of the pistes in Superdévoluy are located on the northern slopes. This guarantees good snow conditions. In addition the resort is equipped with plenty of snow cannons so the lower laying areas and the valley descent can be maintained in good skiing condition.

Cross country skiers can head for the 35 km (22 ml) of cross country tracks. Cross country skiers do not need to buy a lift pass prior to departure. Instead, they can buy a special cross county lift pass on location in Superdévoluy or La Joue du Loup.

Service charge (tip) in restaurants and bars :

It is not likely that the service charger will be added to the bill automatically. If you are pleased with the service you can round off or leave a tip of 10%.

The voltage is 220 and the socket is different compared to the general UK sockets. You can buy an European adapter in most airports and supermarkets.

Mobile:

A UK mobile phone should work in France. The setup for this may differ per provider, so it is best to inquire about this before hand.

Safety on the slopes:

In France, wearing a helmet is not mandatory but recommended (especially for children). In ski classes (for all ages), it is often compulsory.

Travel documents:

You must be in possession of a valid passport in order to travel to France.

Food and Drinks:

Cheese, croissants, baguettes and wine! It is possible to drink tap water.

Opening hours:

As a general rule, the shops are open on Monday/Friday from 09:00 to 19:00. However, some shops may close over lunchtime. On Sunday and Monday, a selection of shops are closed. Some supermarkets are open on Sunday mornings.

Travelling by car:
Most motorways in France require you to pay a toll fee. The Pas Piccolo San Bernardo is closed the whole winter (November - June). Always check the locat weather reports before departing.

In some cities and towns it is obligaroty to have a "environmentsl sticker". It is not possible to buy these stickers en route. You will have to order them online before you leave home. French authorities advise you to print out the form and the confirmation of the sticker if it does not arrive at your home in time. You can find the form on:

Lift pass, lessons and ski/board hire

A Le Massif du Dévoluy ski pass is included in the tour price.

You can see the surcharges and discounts for extending your ski pass or no ski pass in step 1 (preferences) of the booking process. Ski passes for children up to 4 years old are free. These discounts can be found in the calculation of your travel sum. Identification is required when collecting the ski pass.

Any surcharges and discounts are only valid upon booking. Other rates are applied locally. It is not possible to redeem the ski pass on another day onsite. An extension of the ski pass can often be booked as an extra; you will find the price for this further into the booking steps. The discount for “no ski pass” can also be found in the booking process.

Bronze

This equipment is ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The equipment is particularly manoeuvrable, so it makes turning and braking easy. Parallel skiing is also possible with these skis.

Silver

This is ideal equipment for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The equipment is manoeuvrable and suitable for cutting corners sharply. Even at high speeds, these skis provide great performance.

Gold

These skis and snowboards are made of high-quality material and are perfect for experienced skiers. They can also be used by skiers who have mastered parallel skiing. This comfortable equipment is suitable for all track types and snow conditions.

Diamond

These are high performance skis and snowboards with the latest technology and are suitable for the most experienced skiers.
