Skiing in Canazei

General information

Canazei is a beautiful village at the edge of the Sella Ronda, in the heart of the beautiful valley of Val di Fassa. It is surrounded by the Dolomites and by a forest of pine trees. The village is the main tourist centre of Val di Fassa. It is a fantastic destination, with a mix of friendly people, new hotels and old farm houses creating a unique winter atmosphere. With the lifts you can reach the Belvédère slopes, as well as the famous Sella Ronda. On the way back you can ski all the way to Canazei through the valley run. Après-ski is is paramount here, and there is a good mix of restaurants, bars and cafes and night clubs. Canazei is the start of the 70km long Marcialonga cross-country skiing. For hikers there is also over 20km of trails.

Apart from winter sports, you can also spend some time visiting the city of Bolzano, which is just an hour from Canazei. This city is popular for its idyllic location in a valley surrounded by high mountains, and its fine  wines. You can visit the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology where you can see the 5300 year old ice mummy Ötzi.
